🍌 Is Google's Nano Banana That Good?

Everyone is 'going bananas' over Google's new Nano Banana AI image model right now.

And Instead of rushing out a hype video like most creators, I actually spent some time testing it on real world applications.

My verdict? It's a great upgrade but VERY overhyped.

I made a detailed YouTube video breaking down my tests with Nano Banana:

✅ My Nano Banana Test Results

The key question I always ask when testing new AI tools & models: "This is cool, but how does this actually move the needle for a real world application?"

Most creators skip this part and just show off flashy examples that look impressive but serve no practical purpose.

Where Nano Banana Excels:

• High usage - You can generate a ton of AI images for free compared to other platforms
• Professional headshot editing - Changed my background flawlessly to solid colors without messing up my face
• Social media graphics & memes - Successfully swapped logos and edited memes correctly
• Local business ads - Created impressive ads for a window cleaning company using their logo and website

Where Nano Banana Falls Short:

• YouTube thumbnails - Multiple attempts failed to properly replace faces or maintain correct dimensions
• Complex infographics - Text came out misspelled and unprofessional looking
• Logo redesigns - Results were mediocre compared to ChatGPT's 4o image model
• Can't handle complexity - Photoshop and good designers aren't going anywhere lol

I found a comment on Reddit that nailed it:

"The hype isn't coming from graphic designers thinking it will replace Photoshop. It's coming from 99% of people who have never used Photoshop and now have a powerful tool at their fingertips."

That's exactly right. Nano Banana is probably the best free AI image model available today, but it's not magic.
