🤫 5 AI Truths You Need to Know

I just published what might be my most controversial video yet...

We're in the midst of a trust recession where nobody knows who or what to believe anymore. And it's only getting worse.

So I'm calling out the gimmicks, sharing what actually works, and exposing the truth about what's happening in the AI industry right now.

Here's my full breakdown of these AI Truths:

Truth #1: Most AI Tools Suck

There are literally 1000s of AI tools floating around and I would argue 90% of them are worthless.

Here's the dirty secret: Most AI tools (for marketing & content) are just 'ChatGPT wrappers' using OpenAI models behind the scenes.

They have fancy websites, use brainrot marketing to convince you it's magic, and often use the cheapest AI models possible without telling you (GPT-5 mini for example).

Example: This AI tool costs $49/month to start and that gets you only 15 articles. Meanwhile, ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro combined cost $40/month and give you 50x more usage with more control over AI models.

Here's My Advice: Start with ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, OR Gemini Advanced (they all cost $20/month) before you dive into this endless rabbit hole of AI tools.

And here are the AI Tools that I'm actually using in my business and personal life right now:

• ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) - Using daily
• Claude Pro ($17/month) - Using daily
• Blotato ($29/month) - Using daily
• Make ($9/month) - Using daily
• VoiceInk ($25 lifetime) - Using daily
• HeyGen ($29/month) - Using weekly
• ElevenLabs ($22/month) - Using weekly
• NotebookLM (free) - Using weekly
• Perplexity Pro ($20/month) - Using weekly

Truth #2: Most AI Updates are Not "INSANE" and Don't Matter

Most AI updates are not 'INSANE' and deserve your attention, despite what clickbait titles claim.

Claude upgraded from Opus 4 to Opus 4.1? Cool update, move on.

The problem is creators capitalize on every AI update by screaming "INSANE!" and "GAME CHANGER!" to drive views.

They're fear-mongering to get clicks, sell courses, and push affiliate products.

Here's the reality: Stop consuming AI news 24/7 thinking you're getting ahead. You're not. Most updates won't impact your workflow whatsoever.

Do this instead: Master the basics of ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, and then learn AI Automations. Focus on producing real results with AI that matter for your job/business.

Truth #3: AI Slop ≠ Real World Results

Pumping out millions of AI-generated posts won't move the needle.

The gurus have this obsession with quantity over quality. The "checklist mentality" where posting AI content automatically means winning. Wrong.

There are automations and agents that can pump out millions of videos, images, and blog posts in minutes. But what does that matter if none of them convert?

Here's the reality: AI has made quality and expertise MORE valuable, not less. You need strategy, quality control, and real subject matter knowledge paired with AI to create content that actually converts.

Pure volume without strategy is a race to the bottom.

Truth #4: Faceless AI Video is a Race to the Bottom

I'm not saying faceless AI video can't work. I'm saying it's a losers game in the long run.

The clickbait on this topic is out of control. Tutorials everywhere with claims like "Make $100K in 90 days with AI Faceless Video!"

This is garbage designed to sell you things. These creators profit from YOU, not from the faceless channels they claim work so well.

Plus, platforms can detect everything, as YouTube literally owns an AI video model (Google Veo).

So what happens when these platforms demonetize and crack down on AI video? YouTube has already hinted at this.

If your business relies on blasting AI shorts for ad revenue, you're building on quicksand. Build something sustainable instead.

Truth #5: Most AI Content Creators are Sellouts

This is the harsh truth nobody will talk about.

Most content creators make money from ads, affiliate commissions, and sponsorships. And because of this fact, their incentives are misaligned with helping you.

There is no better example of this than searching for 'Poppy AI review' on YouTube:

About 80-90% of results are affiliate garbage with fake thumbnails. They're not looking out for you, they're padding their wallets.

Now you might be asking - "Well Ryan how are you any different?"

For full transparency: About 25% of my total revenue comes from YouTube (ads, affiliates, community, etc.) while 75% comes from my marketing agency. I wouldn't care one bit if I lost that 25% if that meant sacrificing my ethics. You can visit my LinkedIn Profile if curious as I have nothing to hide lol.

The main goal of my YouTube channel is to build my personal brand and use it for lead generation in my actual business. I've turned down $1000s from AI & SaaS companies pushing me to review their s**t.

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night creating fraud reviews and convincing people that every AI update is INSANE to drive clicks.

Bonus Truth: Learning AI ≠ Executing With AI

Watching YouTube videos, scrolling social media, and joining communities doesn't move the needle by itself.

Most people get stuck in "experimental mode" chasing the next shiny tool instead of "execution mode" where real progress happens.

Here's what you should do: Audit your daily tasks. Ask "where can AI save me time, money, or improve quality?" Then execute on THAT specific task list.

Stop dropping everything for the latest AI update, and focus on what actually moves your career/business forward.
