🤯 Biggest ChatGPT Update of the Year

ChatGPT just dropped what might be their most powerful update yet - Developer Mode.

This lets you connect ChatGPT to 1000s of apps using MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors, ending the days of being a "copy-paste robot" between ChatGPT and your other tools.

This is a huge update as we can now connect ChatGPT to tools like Google Sheets, Slack, Zoom, Calendly, Notion, HubSpot, and thousands of other apps.

I spent hours testing this and made a video tutorial showing exactly how to set it up.

Why ChatGPT Developer Mode is a Big Deal:

• You can now connect your tools with ChatGPT right from the interface
• No more copying and pasting back and forth between ChatGPT and other apps
• Eventually this will be a reliable alternative to automation platforms and relying on APIs

Three Ways to Connect Your Apps:

1. ​Native Connectors (Easiest): Platforms like HubSpot, Notion, Google Drive, Outlook, Canva, and others offer native integration with ChatGPT.
2. ​Zapier MCP (Moderate): The easiest way to connect apps without official MCP servers. Create a free Zapier MCP account, connect your tools, and get 300 API calls per month.
3. External MCP Servers (Advanced): For technical users, you can build custom MCP servers with n8n or find community connectors, but most people should stick with the first two options.

🚀 Real World Examples

I tested a few real-world examples that show the power of ChatGPT Developer Mode.

But keep in mind this is still in beta mode so tool calls may run slow and there will be some kinks for OpenAI to figure out.

• Google Sheets Automation: Instead of manually writing 50 social media captions in a Google Sheets column, I had ChatGPT connect with Google Sheets, read titles from column A, and generate captions in my writing style for column C. Instead of copy paste mode my captions were automatically generated.
  ​
• LinkedIn Content Scraping: I used Apify to scrape my recent LinkedIn posts, then had ChatGPT analyze my writing style and create more posts just like it. All without leaving the ChatGPT interface.
  ​
• Meeting Management & Calendar: I connected Calendly and asked "what meetings do I have this week and what should I prepare for each?" It pulled my upcoming meetings and created a prep checklist for each meeting, all within ChatGPT.

Agree with Gael per usual. Anthropic needs to step it up with these recent OpenAI updates:
