🤯 5 Claude Code Hacks From a Top 1% User

Last week I interviewed Mark Kashef, who is an AI expert and someone I consider the goat of Claude Code.

Mark is in the top 1% of Claude Code users on the planet, and he walked through the exact hacks he uses to run his business workflows.

Most people still treat Claude like a chatbot. Mark treats it like an operator. That shift is the whole game.

Here's the full breakdown of Claude Code Hacks:

Hack One: Plan in ASCII first. Before building anything, Mark has Claude sketch the page as rough ASCII art. It costs almost nothing and lets you catch generic, slop-looking layouts before you commit to a real build.

Hack Two: Use Gemini as your cheap workhorse. It's bad at coding but great at reading PDFs, videos, and screenshots. Point it at the messy multimodal stuff to save your expensive Claude tokens for the real work.

Hack Three: Loop with guidance, not "make it better." Blindly looping "improve this" 100 times is a waste. Give it a rubric or a real user journey to test against, and looping becomes genuinely powerful.

Hack Four: Run Claude and Codex as a duo. Let Claude build, then have Codex tear the plan apart and poke holes until neither has anything left to say. Two models beat one stubborn one.

Hack Five: Turn concepts into visuals. Mark feeds Claude the free HyperFrames tool and turns any idea into a clean animated diagram. Perfect for content, articles, or just explaining something to your team.

The theme across all of it: plan obsessively, then let the execution be effortless. Mark spends days on planning files and only hours building, because a good plan means the model barely has to guess.

Until Next Time 🫡
