Are you struggling with AI content writing? In one of my recent videos I explain 5 tips to write better content with AI that sounds natural, clear, and human.

Whether you’re writing blogs, emails, ad copy, or any form of content these are the strategies I use to improve my AI outputs.

🛑 Stop Using the Free Version of ChatGPT

I'll be honest I think the free version of ChatGPT is a bad product... Here's why you must upgrade to Plus to improve your AI writing outputs:

• Free users are stuck with downgraded models (likely GPT-4o mini) and far less usage
• ChatGPT Plus gives you full access to OpenAI's best writing models like GPT-4o and GPT-4.5
• You can't create your own Custom GPTs and Projects (this is a big deal IMO)

My Takeaway: ChatGPT Plus is one of the best investments I've ever made in my life, and if you want to take your AI writing seriously this is a must have.

🧠 Create Customized Versions of AI

Creating a Custom GPT, ChatGPT Project, or Claude Project lets you train AI to match your tone, writing style, and avoid common clichés. Here's how I use them:

• Provide custom instructions such as preferred reading level, writing structure, banned phrases, etc.
• Upload your project files including several writing samples to train it
• You can create customized versions of AI on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini (Gems), Perplexity (Spaces), and more

My Takeaway: I only create content with Custom GPTs & Projects anymore for blogs, emails, video scripts, captions, and more.

🚫 Avoid Common AI Words & Phrases

Want your writing to pass the “Did a human write this?” test? Avoid the "AI slop" words.

I created a banned words list that I upload into every GPT and Project I use. A few offenders:

• “Robust”
• "Delve"
• “Dive into”
• “Cutting-edge”

My Takeaway: When your content avoids generic AI words/phrases, you build more trust and authority instantly.

✍️ Try Claude 3.7 Sonnet for Writing

If you're doing a lot of copywriting with AI, Claude 3.7 Sonnet is worth testing. Here's why:

• More natural & empathetic writing tone out of the box
• Ideal for blog posts, emails, and social captions
• Works even better when paired with Projects and custom writing styles

My Takeaway: Claude sounds more human than ChatGPT in many use cases, and it's especially great for storytelling and empathetic writing.

🤖 Use a Quality AI Writing Tool

Most AI writing tools suck and don’t tell you what model they’re using. SEOWriting AI is one of the few AI writers I've used and recommend. Here's why:

• You can choose your model (Claude, GPT, DeepSeek, etc.)
• You can train your own brand voice
• You can create full blog posts, add links, images, and even auto-publish to WordPress

My Takeaway: SEOWriting AI is one of the few AI writing tools I recommend to write SEO-optimized blog posts at scale.
