But I'm so glad I went down the rabbit hole. A lot of you guys have been asking me to create some AI Automation tutorials and here you go! In one of my recent videosβ, I explain how to build a simple AI automation using Make and Perplexity that sends you the top AI news stories every morning directly to your Gmail. I suggest watching the video above but here's a quick breakdown of how this automation works: π§ Define the Goal Before you start going down the rabbit hole and building random automations, ask yourself: What do I want this automation to accomplish? What is the purpose of this? In this instance I wanted a daily AI news briefing sent to my inbox, but this method works for any industry like finance, cybersecurity, tech, you name it. π§ Set Up Make.com Create a free account on Make.com and start a new Scenario. Think of Scenarios as workflows. Make is the go-to no code automation tool for beginners. It's easier to learn than Zapier or N8N for beginners IMO. π Connect Perplexityβs API Add just $1-2 of credit, create an API key, and integrate Perplexity with Make. It costs only one penny per run, so itβs super affordable. π οΈ Use My Automation Prompt I prompt Perplexity to act as an βAI news scoutβ and format results into a daily email with clickable links to the news sources. I share this full prompt inside my community but for the purposes of this email I've also added it inside my AI Marketing Essentials Guide. π¬ Connect Gmail Account Once Perplexity generates the content, Make sends the outputs automatically to your Gmail. If your integration fails (common issue), Here's a helpful troubleshooting video that actually solved my problem. β Test the Automation & Run Daily Click βRun Once" and troubleshoot if needed. Then schedule it to run every morning so it will pick up the top stories in a 24-hour news cycle. π― My Final Takeaway Over the past month or so I've spent hours learning AI Automations for both you guys and to improve systems within my own business. Learning how to build AI automations is one of the highest-leverage skills you can have right now! No coding knowledge is required.
